We took a quick day-trip to Bear World with some friends of ours, the Larsen's, Kap's, and Sharp's. It was a great time! Robertsons...we missed you, sorry you couldn't come!
Bear World is a place in Rexburg, Idaho that has a large amount (47 to be exact) of bears roaming freely so you can see them up close and personal. You get to drive through in your cars and view the bears and other animals. The bears will come right up to cars and sometimes they even will get up or on the cars. It was a lot of fun and really great to see these amazing animals so closely (and safely).

Despite what this looks like, these were just two bear cubs fighting it out. They must be siblings! One of the workers came over and jabbed at them with a broom to get them to leave each other alone.
We also went on what is called the "curator tour" where you ride around in a big open truck with a guide that told us all about many of the different bears. We were able to throw food out so the bears would come very close. It really was amazing. Of course, Cooper wanted to sample the food (a little hay block). We also fed them bread and powdered donuts. Guess what the bears liked the best?
It's a bit hard to tell but this one had some food that he caught right out of the air...nice shot Cooper!
If you look closely, there is a powdered donut sized ring on the forehead of this bear...yup he got pegged with one and he wasn't too pleased with it.
So any good nature-centered place has amusement rides, right? Well, this one does. I realize this is a kids ride and prior to this picture, I did have a child with me but I know it looks like I just decided to take a trip on the kids train.
Carrie wasn't the only adult enjoying the kids rides. What you can't see from this picture is the poor worker PUSHING this little roller coaster up the hill!
I thought this was so funny. This machine had little pellets of food that could be purchased to feed the animals with. Well, this guy obviously knew where the grub came from because he kept trying to sneak a little snack from it.

The bear with the powdered sugar donut shape on his forehead is hysterical! (Oh & SURE you had a kid on your lap on the train...) You know, we've seen the billboards for this place for years now but have never stopped. We always seem to be in a hurry to get to IF or to get back home. Now my kids are probably too old to enjoy it - & Jeff would FREAK if a bear crawled on his car.
Looks like you guys had a BLAST! We wish we could've come. We'd rather be there then sick at home. Next time! Love all the pictures!
We haven't been there for years! I doubt the kids even remember it! Looks like so much fun! We'll have to go again! Thanks for giving us another ideas for a fun get away for the day! Glad you guys had a great time! :)
Looks like a fun and memorable trip. WOW, amazing pictures.
