Last year, my brother-in-law, Matt was diagnosed with Leukemia. It was a very scary time for our family. Thankfully, he was blessed to have a quick treatment and is now in remission. Light the Night is an event to raise funds for research for blood cancers such as leukemia and lymphoma. Matt and Mindi organized a team to help with the fight. We were honored to be a part of it and to participate in the walk for the cause. Mindi and Matt along with the team raised almost $2,000 to donate. That is just amazing!
Matt wearing his survivor shirt! What an awesome sight! We are so grateful it turned out the way it did and we are so proud of Matt for his efforts to fight this cancer!

Survivors got to wear white shirts and supporters got to wear red.

Matt's team

Matt's team with our balloons. Each survivor had a white balloon, supporters had a red balloon and families of those who lost someone to blood cancer had a gold balloon. After the event, Cooper told me he was so glad that we didn't have to have a gold balloon. I thought that was really sweet!

They also had some fun events and things going on for kids. Ariel made a special appearance and she even made balloon creations for the kids. This was the highlight for Conlie.

Thanks for capturing this event. What a neat experience to be able to support Matt and Mindi, they did awesome in raising money for such a great cause. We too are grateful Matt is doing so well, our family is so very blessed in many, many ways. Love to you all!!! Grandma, Mom W.
That is so fun that you can do something like that as a family. And Cooper is right - so glad you didn't have a gold balloon. We did a walk for PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease) right after Jeff's mom got her kidney transplant years ago. That was a lot of fun, but sadly I didn't get any pix of it. And Jeff's mom was still too weak after her surgery to join us, but everyone else was there. BUT we didn't have Capt Jack Sparrow at our function. (Maybe that was a good thing, though. I have a thing for that man...)
